Welcome students! I am sure you are excited about the new academic year and are looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. I can still recall my freshman year at UNCW back in 1974. Yes, that's right, 1974! I moved into what would eventually be named Galloway Hall and began a journey that would not only provide me with a valuable education, eventually earning undergraduate and graduate degrees from UNCW, but also lasting relationships with friends that I still have 35 years later.

Don't worry if you hear explosions on campus; it's just a part of the constant warfare between Wagoner and its biggest competitor, Dub's Café. Although Wag has taken steps to improve itself, it will never outdo Dub's.
If you live on campus you might always find yourself eating at Wag because it's close by.

To pay for the new health care plan, congress has passed legislation allowing a tax to be placed on indoor tanning beds. An extra 10% tax on indoor tanning went into effect July 1st and is finally beginning to be noticed by shop owners and customers alike.
